Test site now up and running

The website is progressing nicely but is not yet ready to go live. However, there is a test site in the works as a talking point and as a 'teaser' for when the situation goes live. All feedback is welcome - the pricing and colour options have yet to be addressed, but for any issues you might come across, a line back to inform me would be much appreciated. Also, anything you'd LIKE to see as well, just let me know...

Subaru Impreza MK4 - 'Hawkeye'

The third and final variation of the 'new age' saloon Imprezas. Based on the same basic shape, the update incorporated a whole new front end and a tweaked rear in the form of new rear light clusters. The 'jewelcase' style lights added some 'bling', and were originally considered ostentatious by some. It's certainly more aggressive than its previous incarnations, though - although it could be improved upon...
Cue a set of huge alloys with outrageously low profile rubber, extended wheelarches and a bespoke body kit including a new-style front splitter; seriously dropped and blatting down a country lane, you can almost hear the Boxer burble and the turbo-chatter...

Audi R8

Another Audi. This time, the particularly well-received R8 supercar - a direct rival to the Porsche 911. There are questionable elements of its design, including the 'fairy-light' headlamps and the carbon-fibre 'blade' behind the doors; however there is no doubt that if you can look past those, it is a fantastic-looking piece of machinery. Taking things a step further, this modified example includes a considerably re-modeled front end, wider hips and an integral rear wing, while dropped to the max and sitting on huge wheels and low-profile rubber. Seen here being thrown across an airfield sideways...

Audi TT added

Audi's TT coupé is the subject of the latest addition to the library. From standard, the front has had a re-design by way of a re-profiled front grille with larger air intakes each side and a deeper front splitter. The track has been widened and the arches extended to cater for much larger wheels with some serious negative offset. A whale-tail wing at the back finishes off the body mods, while lots of tyre smoke and a winding mountain road scenario adds the drama.

There's a crafting revolution going on...

It seems that Crafting and Scrapbooking have never been so popular; I should know - my wife's ADDICTED to it. So for all you crafters out there, follow her blog and join in all the crafty goings on with her and her friends...

Here we go...

These are the first of the pictures in the series...

Subaru Impreza Mk2 - 'Bugeye'
The 'New Age' Impreza met with some controversy when it was first launched. The oval headlamps, gaping grille and squared-off chin made for challenging acceptance by the hardcore Impreza enthusiasts. This revised version aims to redress the balance by creating what was missing from the range all along - an STi version of the 5-door wagon. Mods involve widening the front grille and raking the bonnetline backwards to smooth off the front. Headlights are WRC-spec and the front splitter and sideskirts are bespoke, created from scratch. Larger wheelarches house huge wheels, in the statutory gold, to go with the STi blue bodywork. The roof-rails have been removed and the roofline lowered. Dynamism is added by way of powersliding in monsoon conditions.

Subaru Impreza Mk3 - 'Blobeye'
In response to the above, the Impreza received a mild facelift - not groundbreaking, but sufficiently more aggressive to preserve its street credentials. This version takes it a step further by way of re-designed headlamps, a wider grille, revised front splitter and larger wheels under larger arches. Seen on this occasion lamping sideways across an airfield...

Porsche 911
Always seen as the sensible choice over all other premium sportscars. Roomy, comfortable and relatively easy to drive, while potent, rapid and exciting at the same time. Having the engine at the back no longer means the potential to swap ends at every corner - as seen in this example. Witness this 911, once a standard Carrera 2, searing through a traffic junction absolutely sideways, tyresmoke not only generated by the yellow peril. Other drivers have to make extra effort to avoid contact with the low slung coupe, with its bespoke body kit and big wheels, as it screams through a red light and spectacularly makes the turn...

The time has come... nearly!

Hello one and welcome all...

I've been building up to this for what seems quite a while but my 'on the side' business venture is nearly ready to go. I give you SmartcarZ.

As a crossover between my fascination with cars, and my love of tinkering with Photoshop, the end result is a collection of framed prints which I aim to sell through a variety of outlets. The size of each pic is 400mm x 500mm and will come framed and mounted.

The subjects of the pictures are performance cars in scenarios that shout "SPEED"; I'd like to think that these pictures have some soul and are not clinical like the 'professional' chops you see on various internet sites (not mucky ones!)...

Steadily over the period of time, my collection of photo-retouched prints will grow and, some time soon, there will be a website as well. They should be a great present for the kids to have on their walls - maybe the grown-ups might fall under the spell as well.

It's all very much in its infancy, but as things move on, progress will be posted right here...
